It is with a heavy heart that we offer our condolences for the passing of one of our staff and friend Carlos P. His enthusiastic and outgoing spirit will always linger at the track, but his physical presence will be missed deeply. Carlos, our tech adviser, passed on from this world on Sunday May 6Th, 2012 after an early morning accident on exit ramp 33 off of I-4. He left behind his girlfriend Cynthia and two kids. In his memory, Lakeland Dragstrip is planning on having some events in Carlos’ name to encourage young and old to take their cars out of the street race scene and bring them to a safer environment at the dragstrip. We will be dedicating the ET shack in Carlos’ name and will be having a memorial race in his honor on Friday May 18. From all the staff at Lakeland…..you’ll be missed and never forgotten.
